Has anyone ever done this and got good results? I don't have a mic so I was gonna try and pair my phone to HU, and bluetooth headset to HU and use it that way. I would need to go buy a new charger for my headset so that is the reason I was asking if it would work or if anyone has tried it before I go pay for a charger (when I never use it for anything else)

You will likely get a cheap Chinese knock off and have even more problems if you got from ebay. You spent 1K+ on the head unit and your going to cheap out on a BT mic?

lol nah I got the unit from ebay also. I have had it for a few weeks now and it works like a dream. I only paid $735 for it. So it's no a big deal to get a mic from ebay too.

The person I am getting it from shows an actual pioneer mic in the package so I would assume thats what it is. I have not personally ever had trouble with ebay (knock on wood) so I hope I don't start now. :)

So where is the mic that was suppose to come with the unit? Also there is no way you can tell if your getting an actual Pioneer mic by looking at the auction. There are numerous Pioneer parts on ebay that claim to be authentic Pioneer parts but are actually counterfeit products and are complete garbage. There was a thread on here just a few days ago that dealt with this very matter. You better off doing it right the first time and getting the right part.

Very true, on you never know what will come in the mail. The person I got it from did not have the mic for some reason. I was kinda curious about it myself. But once he sold it to me for that cheap I figure I could always get the mic from pioneer or some other place. I would not mind getting the pioneer mic from pioneer. I just don't want to get it and then I have to deal with the same issues that others have dealt with about the voice quality and stuff. I do have a friend that will visit some time and I will try out his mic and if it's good sound quality then I will surely buy a mic from pioneer site.

In that case just go to Best Buy and buy a Garmin mic which others have done on here and reported good results.

I could have done that but when I searched BB they came up with some other mics that I did not even like. Will have to search for Garmin mic or look in the GPS stand alone section.
