Pull the parking brake.

U are running the Pioneer iPod cable, correct?

Pull the parking brake.

I grounded the parking brake wire...I am using a Pioneer cable I bought from eBay, could that be it?

Posted Jun 02, 2010 · 02:39 UTC#5

Grounding just the parking brake does not complete the bypass and most ebay cables are cheap knockoffs that don't fully work.

did you do the by-pass? If you didn't do it, you can't just permanently ground the parking brake wire. Yeah make sure your cable is an authentic Pioneer one and not a knockoff.

Yea, I did the bypass...

As for the cable, maybe it could be where I have it plugged into?

Posted Jun 02, 2010 · 02:47 UTC#8

I have it plugged into the IPOD/USB connection on the back BTW.

Ok.

So.....try a different cable? Different input? Setting?

Posted Jun 02, 2010 · 02:59 UTC#11

There is no different input. So, let me try this for you again.

Can I use a headphone cable and my OEM IPOD cable? Seems like that is all the cable is anyways...

Posted Jun 02, 2010 · 03:08 UTC#13

In the manual, on page 138 it says...

No video output if iPod is selected as AV

source, check the setting in “AV1 Input” on

the “AV System Settings” menu.

Could that be it? Does anyone know what they are referring to?

No. If you want it to work properly you have to get the proper cable. A cheap counterfeit knockoff cable that shipped from China is not the proper cable. You are only about the hundredth person to do this and then post a "why doesn't it work" thread on this. The answer is always the same. The ebay cables don't work about 98% of the time. go to your local Best Buy, buy the right cable, and see if the problem goes away. If it does, and it will, then you will know.

iPod is the default setting for AV1 so unless you changed it to something else, thats not your problem.

Check out my post (#3 I think) here and verify that your iPod cable has the video output.

if there are metal 2 rings + tip on the connector then it is NOT a video ipod cable. If there are 3 metal rings + tip on the connector then it is a video cable.
