Upgrade from D3 Question — AVIC411 Forum Archive

I have a D3 installed in my 06 Charger with all steering wheel controls and using factory amp.

Can I upgrade to a Z series without to much hassle? Are the plug ins on the back the same or similar enough that I would maybe just have to get a new harness?

i've got a magnum and have kept factory amp and steering wheel controls. if you are using the pch chy4 harness and pc-swi-ps than should be able to just cut the connections and attach them again to new pioneer harness

It depends on which Z series you plan on getting.

scharnhorst Yes I am using those harnesses as well that's what I was hoping.

VBLUE42 , can you elaborate a bit? Which will or wont work?

The power harness from the D3 is transferable to the Z110/120 series but the RCA harness is not. I have no knowledge as to weather they are to the previous Z series.
