Hi folks. I did search for help before posting this but didn't get very far.

Im a new owner of an Avic F700bt that I bought used. I have it successfully installed and did the 3.1 firmware..

So far so good except for when it comes to the voice recognition of my Phonebook contacts. I can't seem to figure how to say anything right for it to recognize my contacts. The VR seems to work fine when I tell it to play certain artists, albums, songs, etc. If I tell the Phone to Call a number it will work fine there. The minute I try to use the name of my contact it just keeps repeating. "Say the name or number" Very frustrating. My phone is a blackberry and the contacts are in First name Last name, however when i transfer the phone book the contacts are listed as last name first name. I've tried saying it last name, first name, both name. Aaggh. I have not gotten it once to successfully call someone using the CALL "Name".

I also did the bluetooth update as well.

Any suggestions?

I think the mic is fine as I can have an incoming conversation no problem.

Thanks so much!

check to make sure that the contacts dont have any weird stuff in them (ie: no ,./` or any garbage like that)

then you can customize any of the names you want, shorter is probably better. if there is a contact in my phone (i have well over two hundred) and i dont talk to them at least once a week, its not in the list, this makes the contact list muck easier to scroll through when there is only 4 or 5 pages of names, in the order i call them (ie: the six people i call most is on page one...)

Thank you. The link you had me start refers to an application that unfortunately can no longer be downloaded. The link is bad.

My BB has the contact as first name, last name, and inside the contact details you have Work, Home, Mobile, etc

I made sure that the numbers and the names don't contain any special characters.

I take the lack of response to indicate this isn't a major issue for the majority of owners.
