Greetings all from a new member. Ive just had a AVIC-F10BT installed at a PIONEER authorized center.

 

Very nice apart from a USB/MP3 problem.

 

When I play MP3's from my USB stick very often the audio cuts off but only for the USB source (rest of audio functions work normally, but on the screen the track is playing normally (ie the time elapsed continues to proceed. If I change to FM for example the sound is working. After 10 seconds up to a few minutes the audio will return. Sometimes it will even freeze on certain mp3s causing me to have to remove the USB stick and reconnect it or wait a minute or two and it will unfreeze. And when USB is plugged in again it will play the same song just fine without freezing.

 

All the mp3's i play worked absolutely fine in the old OEM cheapo head unit, so Im pretty sure its not format compatability etc.

 

Im wondering if the USB cable is loose on the HU or cut/snagged somewhere. Or perhaps a faulty unit? Anyone experienced anything similar?

 

Im off to let the dealer know about this, and will update if I get a fix.

(Oh yeah, and the sat-nav (NAVgate) is a bit poor compared to Garman satnavs Ive used. Its not bad but for those primarily interested in SATVAV they should get a unit with GARMIN navigation (ie KENWOOD etc.)
