Hi,
Before buying this Pioneer F900BT, I bought a cheap Chinese device, also running WinCE. It took only 10 seconds to boot, had the same features as the Pioneer itself, but had a pretty ugly UI and quite a lot of spelling errors. Are any of the Pioneer employees using their own devices? I don't think so - slowest bootup ever, nice big screen but not utilized very well, so disappointed in Pioneer. Ok, they can make a nice package and put their logo on it, that's fine - but for God sake, use Linux and make an open API that developers can use. How many more people would buy the device if they could install their own applications on the device? They have a potentially huge community out there that would just help perfect a good base, I don't get what is so bad about that. Why is it that all these big companies think they have the best people to do the best devices - they obviously don't!
Look at what's happening with the cell phone market. Open platforms everywhere, users own applications running on every device, that's the future.
Anyways, I sometimes use it for some foreign language training on the way to work. The files are mostly around 30 minutes long, while my commute is only 20min. On any other car stereo (or audio device) I have owned, the obvious thing to do would be to resume the last file where it stopped. But the F900BT only starts the whole thing over again. Well, of course I just fast forward 20 minutes into the audio file, right? That takes about 10 minutes, ridiculous
Does anybody know if it is possible to change the resume setting, or maybe change the fast forward speed? I am so sick of this nice stereo
