Here is what is going on so far.

 

I have had this unit for about 1 year now. After it was hooked up last year, i have done no mods, hacks, or changes of any kind.

 

Yesterday morning, I noticed my screen got really dark, so I increased the brightness and didn't think any more of it. The next time I started my car, i got the splash screen, but then it went black and just sat there. I could still hear my music playing though. I figured out if I pressed menu and map at the same time, it would bring the screen back on, but then it would reboot within a couple of minutes.

 

I found one idea, disabling the rear camera. I never had this turned on before, but sure enough, it was on. I disabled this, and no longer received the black screen. It still rebooted every couple of minutes though. I then thought maybe I could do a firmware update to fix it. I tried installing the 2.008 firmware (had the 2.006), but at 45% the screen turned red and froze up (tried this 3 times). When I rebooted, it still was doing the same thing, except now I can no longer access the settings menu. I also tried to reinstall the 2.006, but when it was checking the files on the sd card, it gave an error message.

 

After that I tried deleting the 4 gpspar files by going in to test mode, but that did not help. I think at this point I may need the original files so I can format it and reinstall the 2.0 firmware. Does anyone have these files? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
