I did a software upgrade on my phone and all my contacts got deleted. I see they are still on the head unit, so I was wondering is there a way to transfer them to a memory card or even back to the phone perhaps from the head unit?

Search through the various threads on here and in the F series forums for any threads dealing with BT contacts issues with these units. There are a couple of apps that were uploaded or linked to that would allow you to edit the contact database that is stored on the unit. That should help worth your problem.
