Just got my X920BT installed and it seems to work well with the exception of AM radio. FM stations come in strong, however I can't tune a single AM station. Anyone else having issues? Could my installer have missed something

I've got the same problem with mine. Previous radio got AM stations fine but this guy has horrible reception in the AM band. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have the same problem. Are you using an antenna adapter, like 40-CR10 or 40-GM10? I've seen this on many Pioneers we install to VW, Dodge, GM, Smarts, Mercedes. I am using the BT audio to stream my AM stations in my local area. Cant believe this radio and other nav radios from Pioneer have terrible AM reception. Also seen it in older Fords that didnt need an adapter.

Add me to the list. I can't get a single am station. I have a VW Golf Wagon. It pisses me off because I can get regular traffic updates every 10 min. on AM but FM is a little harder to consistiently find them.

I like AM every now and then - anyone get this fixed? Pioneer used to be the kings of aftermarket tuners - what is happening to this company?

Guys most foreign cars have an AM antenna amp that has to be connected in order to get AM reception. The power wire for the amp is usually connected to your antenna adapter. You might want to have a look and see if this applies to you.

took a look and found nothing for my Mazda 3 - do you know about that car?

In my Volkswagen Golf I had to use a powerd antenna adapter to get the FM reception to work. It works well enough but I still don't get any AM.
