Avic D2 can't give directions to my house?

Overall I'm pleased with my D2, this is the first aftermarket head unit I've ever purchased. It intergrates into my vehicle very well, looks like OEM almost with the LED being green, hints of chrome trim. I really like the vehicle dynamics, XM is very nice with the GEX-p920. However, it can't tell me how to get home. It knows my address but it tells me to go past my driveway by ~2 tenths of a mile and turn right and my house is on the left.

I tried it going to work the other night and it was spot on, I followed the directions right to our security office out front door. My house is out in the country, could that confuse it or something. I don't expect it to direct me to my front door, but it should at least tell me to turn left instead of right after I've went past my drive way 2 tenths of a mile.

tillithz... is everyone a SOB where you're from or is it just you? You've posted reponses to 2 of my questions and just wasted bandwith with both of your responses. Some people are ignorant and they accept it, others have to open there mouths to prove it to everyone else.

I had to do this as well. It thought my address was 2 houses down.

Park in your driveway, go into your address book, edit the location for 'Home" and use the "map search" button. Then just press OK. This will make a GPS Snapshot of where your house really is.

The software's not perfect. There are some glitches in the mapping database. I agree with the other poster. Zoom in and add the location via the icon

Jason has it, I had to do that, too. The map data isn't accurate to yesterday, or even last yer, but imagine how long it would take to map every address in the United States. I wouldn't want to do it.

Does anyone know if the kenwood music keg would work with the D2?

If you ask a stupid question, dont be suprised if you get a jokinly fun answer, all be it a stupid response, but fun just the same. Come on are you that uptight that you really think that saying dont go home was meant to insult you? Could it of been meant in a way that some one saw your thread but wasnt able to tell you how to fix it, but still wanted you to know that the question was understood, so that you could rest assure that your question was being thought about by others... Maybe you are, maybe you could have read other posts and searched your problem too, but instead your wasting bandwidth with questions about kenwood on a pioneer forum and compatibility, you could stop, think... tylonal...errr post with some sense that you thought about the question before you asked it. So instead of trying to come back in a smart way, keep in mind you are the one looking for help here in this thread.

Thanks to those that recommended the zoom in and map it feature. I tried it and it worked.

Sorry for the lashing out yesterday Tiller, just felt like you were trying to answer everything with a wise crack. Still don't think you should tell me to not go home right here at Christmas. Then I would't get the Ipod and it wouldn't matter which interface device I had.

no worries bro, just thought I would try to lighten things with a response instead of makin you check back with no response (at that time) so, go home! have a great holiday!!
