I have been having an issue with my 700BT and before I put my fist through it. I figured I'd give this forum a shot. Last week it started doing the reboot thing with the "System is starting up...." message across the screen. So I went to the Pioneer site and I requested the update. (2.000060 if I am not mistaken). I received my card in the mail and followed the instructions to the letter. Funny thing was when I first popped the SD card in and it displayed the update screen I was getting buffer overrun errors. Then, I turned the car off opened the door and tried again. It started working. Success! or so I thought it went all the way to 39% then the screen turned red the time kept climbing but the progress bar slowed down. It kept going until about 46% and then stopped. I had my neighbors looking at me from their windows thinking why is he just sitting there in his car for an hour (I thought this was supposed to take approx. 10 minutes as per instructions and the little count down to completion clock).
Finally, I gave up and with a heavy hand I turned off the ignition and opened the door. Thinking I bricked the thing I turned it back on. Sure enough it booted up with my custom logo and back to the reboot shuffle with the "System is starting up..."
So here I am....
No update
No radio
No navi
No happy me
Somebody help or I am going to have a youtube video of me smashing this thing to itty bitty pieces! Cost is not an issue so I am prepped to buy a part or a update chip or have you come fix it if you are local but I am NOT buying another head unit if it's going to act like this! Let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks in advance any assistance is much appreciated.
