I bought a f500bt and shipped it over from the US. Turns out it wasn't new but infact refurbished. No problem, I suspected it would be.

 

Anyway, I've hardwired it in to my car and now have some issues. Handbrake cable earthed. Haven't done the 128 change yet. It's got the v2 software.

 

Fixed pitch whine. Constant volume whine regardless of volume level. Also occurs with engine off. Isn't like the fusible link issues on previous Pioneer units I've owned. Tried different earthing and power sources but still happens.

Searched and found these so will try the master volume and GLI if there's no other suggestions.

Powering on with ignition. 50% of the time it powers up but other times it goes into standby instead.

 

Internal battery doesn't charge (is it supposed to??).

 

Maps, Obviously it didn't come with New Zealand maps. Can I load up Igo8 NZ maps or do I need some kind of patch first?

 

So far all I've done it testmode it to back it up.
