Anyone have any thoughts on making a homemade antenna tail?

I bought my tuner used and did not get the power harness - I made my own with an inline fuse, but did not include a filter. I don't have any wine or noise, is the filter really needed?

I think you can get the plugs at Radio Shack or any other major electronics store since it is just a 4 pin molex connector. If you have problems then worry about the filter.
