Ok, so now i'm a little confused and any help would be very much so appreciated.

 

When i am driving my avic d3 works fine, it will let me play dvd's as well as control my navi while driving. (no mods needed) however at night, when I turn my headlights on, it turns all those off and gives me, you cannot view while driving or what ever that generic message says about being distracted and driving.

 

I had a guy look at it and he didn't understand it at all.

 

You flip the switch on, and it shuts it all off... turn the lights off and everything works fine again...

 

Do I have a wire switched or something?

you either have a bypass problem, an illum wire problem, or a internal problem with your unit

 

make sure that your mute wire is moved into the right spot and grounded along with the parking brake wire.

 

then verify that you illum wire is connected to the proper source, or try disconnecting this wire completely

 

also make sure that your avic's parking brake wire is not connected to your vehicles illum wire
