This was posted in several threads, but I will explain it again:

1- Make a seperate folder in 'MyFlashDisk/APL2/iGo/Content' folder labled 'map_nt'

2-Install your Navteq maps in the 'map_nt' folder. You can only put in the maps according to your area, such as Canada, and maybe one US state as you will not have the space to add them all.

3- make sure that you have the 'basemap.fbl' file in with the navteq maps, If tou do not have it, use the one with your TA maps. Just copy it over as both map folders have to have a basemap.fbl file.

4- To switch to Navteq maps, just click on the mapchanger button, click on Navteq, and the system will reboot with the Navteq maps.

Maybe I missed somthing, but I dont really understand these instuctions.. maybe i am over thinking it.

But you said to just make a "map_nt" folder in the content folder, which makes sence, but in the sys.txt is says:

1=",map_ta,\My Flash Disk\APL2\iGo,,"

2=",map_nt,\My Flash Disk\APL2\iGo,,"

So do I need to rename my current map folder to map_ta? or does this part of sys.txt not mean what I think it means?

Thank you for the clarification on this.. I am sorry if I am over thinking this.

Thanks

I was wondering the same thing. In addition, when you create the map_nt folder, do you add only the map .fbl files? I also have updated navteq .poi, .3dl .dem files and am not sure whether I should create POI, BUILDING and DEM subfolders in the map_nt folder while leaving the base content :? POI, BUILDING and DEM folders as-is. The other option would be to replace the files under the existing POI, BUILDING and DEM folders (adding only .fbl files to the map_nt folder). Please help to clarify this if possible. Thanks

Look at your folder structure. ONLY the maps (.fbl) go in the map folder. .poi's go in the 'POI' folder, .dem files go in the DEM folder. DO NOT MIX THEM!

Hey Abb1,

I think you might have miss understood.

When creating the folder stucture for the NT maps, can you also use the NT poi's and buildings? I understand that they cant go in the same folder, but do we need to create another folder?

Right now I have under contents, I have the following folders;

Building

Dem

Lang

Map

POI

Scheme

speedcam

texture

voice

So if I want to use the map changer feature, should the folder stucture be;

Building

Dem

Lang

Map

Map_nt

Poi

scheme

speedcam

texture

voice

?

And if that is correct, then can we not use the NT maps pois, building, and dem files? or if we can where do they go?

I know for some this might seem very straight forward, but for me and porbably others, we just want to make sure we get it right.

Thanks Abb and others for your help.. Much appreciated.

I see,....... either mapping system can use either Content files (POI, DEM, BUILDING). In general, I take a look and see which one is the largest and use it, as that is the one with the most data in it. However, if you have enough space, you can have BOTH 'TA POI's' and 'NT POI's' in the same POI folder. Just dont have them under the same file name. eg. if TA filename for Canada is 'canada.poi', the NT one will have to be 'canadaNT.poi'

does it matter if there is a base map in each map_nt and map?
