Hi,

Just bought a avic f710 from someone, at the moment i was buying it i checked the content and remarked there was no usb cable coming out of the rear. USB was written but no cable. When pulling of a black little sticker from the whole you could see the usb plug on the board. I asked the dude to put me a usb cable, so he did.

After coming home and installing the radio. I turn on the radio, go to av source but usb is grayed out.

when i plugging my iphone, no power and no regconisiont! :s

Must i activate the usb port? How? In win ce 5?

Thank you in advance!

Your USB is defective. Have it looked at.

Hi,

So according to you, after that the guy had plugged in the usb cable in the radio. USB had to be activated and be plug and play..?

I tested with testing cable to see if there was juice coming out, the bulb turned on but very low. So i don't know if the radio doesn't give enough juice. This evening im going to check the usb voltage, do you know how much that should be?

Thank you in advance.

Just the fact that it was removed in the first place indicates a problem. There should have been no reason to remove it. The unit is likely defective in other ways as well.

Hi,

there were no signs of it having been removed. It was out of the box condition. The black sticker on it was standard on it. I also saw a thread on here that a f900bt also hadn't a usb out of the box...

Fake radio?

IT WORKS, IT'S ALIVE!!! LOL :D:D

I had some spare time at work so i took the usb cable that the guy had put in the radio and when i rolled it out, i noticed that it had damaged and another usb extention cable was put at the end. With only 4 wires and no ground.

@work i found a usb cord with ground and 4 cables and hooked it up with the radio usb cable that was damaged. And tapped it up so it wouldn't come loose!

When plugging in my usb key or iphone.

My radio detected both of them!!
