Hi guys, hope you can help. I installed my F700-bt but I can't seem to get sound when playing music off a CD, sd card nor usb. I see that it recognizes the device and see that it plays the song but I can't hear anything. The weird thing is that I do hear sound when playing the radio, but nothing else. I lost the RCA cables that came with it and since I was planning on playing music from the sd cards I haven't replaced it. Do you guys think this might be the reason? Any help would be appreciate it.
No sound coming out when playing sd, usb or CD
well it would defently help if we knew what kind of car that it is in, but im gonna take a stab at it any way.
my bet is that you have a premium sound system (which means that your car has a amp out side of the radio that need to get a turn on signal) and instead of hooking up the "amp turn on wire" or "amp cont" you hooked it up to the power antenna wire (which only turns on for the radio) and that is why it works for the radio.
your cars harness probably had it turn on wire as a blue wire (i dont know why but most of them do) and you needed to connect it to the blue/white wire, so you can either go back and reconnect the right wire, or you can go into the menu and change how the power antenna wire functions,
hit the menu button, then select "settings", then select "AV settings", then change "ant cont" from "radio" to "power"
You are right, I have a Nissan Maxima that has the Bose system and it is powered by an outside amp. I did what you suggested and changed the ant cont from radio to power and now I hear sound when playing my sd card, cd, and usb.I must have connected the amp line to the antenna. Thanks a bunch man. I'm going to have to get back there one day and connect it correctly.
its really not the big of a deal, unless you also have a power antenna, but I'm always super anal about sh!t like that, glad it was a simple fix, i blame it on the harness manufactures, since they always use a blue wire instead of a blue/white wire.
