Ok, I got a refurbished X910bt last week. Straight from the Pioneer packaging.

Got it installed successfully last night with everything working. Unit came with 3.0201 if I recall correctly.

I following the guide here viewtopic.php?f=34&t=32351.

Everything went well except I had to delete a couple of maps and POI for islands I'll never visit.

When I got to step 7 and reset the unit it would power down, go to the Pioneer splash screen, then the screen would go dead and the Menu and Map buttons would turn off. I can still hear the fan on though.

I've positive I've copies the files (NOT the folder) from the My Flash Drive folder on the SD card to the My Flash Drive internal memory.

I've repeated the install three times now with no luck.

I've even tried holding the reset + eject key for 5 seconds, which give a different outcome. It waits on the Pioneer splash screen longer then errors and says "Application AV failed. . ." and the unit stops.

I've tried putting the official Pioneer 3.0201 files into a SD card, but it doesn't do anything.

I can still get to Testmode with the SD card made from the torrent in the FX3.1 installation thread, but I can't make that software work.

I'm nearly at my wits end and driving without a radio sucks balls. Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, apparently I was not quite at my wits ends.

Here's the deal. The unit WILL warn you if you try to copy over a larger amount of memory than is available; HOWEVER, it appears that you can still copy over too much memory anyway.

I originally got the file size to large to copy error. So I deleted the maps and POIs for Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and US Virgin Islands as I was pretty sure my truck will NEVER be in any of those places as long as I own it. After deleting those maps and POIs, I was able to copy over the contents of My Flash Drive off my SD card.

APPARENTLY some files were not being copied even though the system thought all copying was successful. After reading around these forums more, I decided to delete Canada. Not the whole country (I'm sure some of ya'll would miss it) but the maps and POIs. That did it. Everything works now. It was an E P I C install process that took better than 5 hours of my time.

So, I guess Southpark knew best, BLAME CANADA!

well the bad news is you really didnt need to do step 1-5. I know the thread is titled "FX3.1" but the actual firmware is 3.02.... The interesting thing the about step 7 i didnt have to hold down the reset for that long for either of my units when i did the "fx3.1" upgrade i just pressed the reset button thats all.I'd try the entire thing all over again. If that doesnt work see if you can find a x910bt backup via the search if you didnt backup your x910.
