Im a total noob to AVIC and this forum so please bear with me!

 

I have an F-700BT installed in my Mercedes C230 coupe. Anyway, recently the voice recognition on my unit for the phonebook only has stopped working. It works perfectly for other functions and even when I say the number to call, just not when I say the name of the person to call. I have an iphone 3G running iOS 3.1.3.

 

Ive read a bit on other threads that some special characters must be removed. Can someone post a step-by-step guide on how I download the phonebook file off the AVIC and what characters need to be changed and how I put it back on the AVIC?

 

I know the answer is available in other threads, but for a total noob like me who doesnt want to screw anything up, the latest set of instructions in one location would be great. Im sure this will benefit other new users too. Anyone in the mood to help a brother out??
