Trouble with voice recognition

Hi guys,

I'm having trouble for voice recognition for the Music.

When I hit the button and say for example: play artist Michael Jackson, it repeats "play artist Michael Jackson"...but plays something completely different! Same thing with any song or artist.

Any way of fixing this?

I got a AVIC-X710bt with the latest software update (3.020100 I think).

Have you allowed the unit to catalog the iPod? You can try restoring your iPod and re-syncing your content and then letting the unit re-catalog the ipod but other then that there is not much you can do. This feature is hit or miss with these units and doesn't work very well.

Good idea...voice recognition was working before; maybe it's as simple as that!

thanks :D

Well consider yourself one of the lucky ones that it works at all. I had two units and neither never worked when using VR for iPod.

VR rarely works for me. I've got a X910BT in my '09 Hyundai Santa Fe. Sometimes I'll get as far as the artist then she can't understand the title and she'll play from the top of my catalog. Most of the time she doesn't even understand Change Source.

I have the Z130BT. Has anyone had issues with the voice recognition on that? My main complaint is the system not understanding who I am trying to call. Asking for the nearest gas station, etc., works just fine. Also, people understand me clearly enough when I am on the phone with them, so I don't think it's the microphone.
