USB Jack?

Hello Again:

As reference in other posts, my Z120BT is in the mail, should be installing it myself early next week.

In all of the photos/reviews I've seen online, I am still unclear where the USB jack is in the system? I realize people connect their iPods via an optional cable, but I am used to listening to MP3 via a jump drive that is located in the console of my currently SYNC equipped 2010 Ford and wonder where I'll make that connection on the new install?

If anybody has SYNC Ford experience here, will I lose the function of this the USB jack in the console once my Z120 is installed? BTW, I am NOT using the PAC-MSFRD1 harness, but rather Scosche's SFRD harness for the install.

Thanks for any help, B3

The USB connection is on a tethered cable on the back of the unit. It measures about 12" long and is best accessed in the glove box. It is highly unlikely the ford connection will be able to be utilized here as the head unit end of that connection is most likely non standard and unable to just be connected to a female USB connection.

if the scosche piece does the same as metras and pac you will be able to retain the sync crap. and if the car has a display in dash you wont have to add the lcd screen for the sync.
