So my Avic-Z1 was having issues locking up frequently.

 

Thought a Upgrade would at least not hurt anything.

Tried an update.

 

Was getting a consistent error.

Hearing the distinct noise of the Hard Drive clicking.

 

So after talking to Pioneer. And not relishing the removing the whole unit for some unknown time.

 

Thought I would go with a new hard drive.

New Hard Drive. Pay Garret Toomey by Pay Pal.

2 days later a new drive with a torx tool arrives.

 

15 minutes later old drive out, new drive in.

AVIC-Z1 updted to the latest maps, and Firmware.

 

System no longer locks up.

 

Would do business with Garret Toomey again.
