So with Jan. 1st, 2012 being the last day of Traffic service, does anyone know what to do from here to have traffic updates on the screen?
Thanks,
James.

Buy a new Navigation system, basically.
this same question has been asked over and over on here, nobody knows what Pioneer will do for traffic.
Keep in mind that this is not Pioneers fault, but Microsofts. I fail to see how a microsoft can sell their traffic software to Pioneer and then kill it shortly after. I phoned them up to get MSN when I first got my X910. Their reply was "Sir, MSN is not in your area, it never will be, and in Jan 2012, nobody will have it as it will no longer be provided" straight to the point without any compromise
. This really sucks, as our Avics, which can be modded, and constantly updated with new maps as they come out, will never die, unlike other NAV systems

listen to AM radio for traffic information

And as far as these legacy units are concerned, they likely wont be doing anything. These units will be three years discontinued by that time so it is likely they wont be supporting them in any fashion when they do offer another traffic solution. Keep in mind that this is nothing new, when a unit is discontinued support in the form of feature additions or major upgrades is dropped with the exception to map upgrades.
