when i play the nano, on the d1 screen only function buttons and the ipod-number shows at the top of the screen. is this normal for this unit or am i missing something? thanks roadkingdoc

Yea, unfortunately, it is.

Theres a way to change the iPod#### to the first 8 characters of the title, but at the moment I can't remember how. I think you need to hit the function 3 button.

The interface on the D1/2, N1/2 for the iPod is horrible. You can look into the iPod2Go, its a much better interface in my opinion, but again, its still not perfect.
