so you have to control ipod from the ipod? you do the swi-ps? if not i can give you very detailed instructions on how to connect the swi-ps and have full functionality. really simple

Yes, I control the iPod from the iPod, not the headunit.

I'm fine with this. I'm used to using the clickwheel on the iPod and I can navigate much faster using the iPod than any of the head unit controls.

The factory steering wheel controls are hooked up to the D2 and I use them for XM Radio, FM Radio, CD, etc... They don't work for the iPod though, other than volume control.

Very nice. I have an '07 CR-V myself, and really want to get a Z1.

Question: did you use the OEM dash panel piece from the navi CR-V to install the D2? If so, what's your opinion of the fit?

Thanks!

The dealer installed the D2 in the dash, as well as the rear camera, so I don't know exactly what they used. I'm quite happy with the result.

I wanted the dealer to install, so it would be covered under the vehicles warranty.

Unfortunately the Honda dealers in my area won't install anything not an official Honda accessory (at least, that was the answer I got when I was trying to get a remote starter installed, so I assume the answer's the same *G*). Thanks for the quick response, tho!

Yeah, I suppose a lot of dealers would be like that.

I paid a price for it... because I also bought the D2 from the Honda dealership that installed it. I'm sure that I overpaid for the unit itself, but it was worth it, in my opinion, to have it covered under warranty from the dealership.

So - were they able to get the steering wheel controls to work with it?

Thanks :D

the oem lx dash piece is what you get if you have an ex, and the steering wheel control... swi-ps works perfectly.

Yes, the factory steering wheel controls work fine.
