Question... I had an installer tell me that a switch should be placed on the X920bt that would allow the bypass to be turned on and off because long term use of the bypass has led to gyroscope problems within a year or so in other pioneer units? Is there any truth to this? I haven't heart of anyone stating that they had any problem with the mute wire parking break bypass and subsequent gyroscope malfunctions. (Unit turning on and off etc.)

He is full of crap and probably trying to charge you for parts and labor. The proper bypass instructions are on this forum. Any other methods of switches and relays are completely unnecessary and redundant.
