I did some looking around, does anyone know if we might get a firmware update on some of the late model (like my 2010 x920BT) AVIC units? I also looked and I have the 50 not the 51 cable but oh well, easy upgrade.

I got thinking about this after seeing the demo on the blog post here.

Me too I have the CD-IU50V cable and I'm sure that's what was recommended to use on their website last year when I bought my unit.

Update: It's confirmed, I just opened my installation instructions from my unit and it's clearly stating to use the CD-IU50V even the Pioneer website suggest to get the CD-IU50V not the CD-IU51V....

Pioneer should replace our cables free of cherge for the CD-IU51V !

In the tech video they mention the navigation units require the CD-IU51V not th 50

The 51V is only required if you are using an iPad with the unit.

You can also do the same thing on currant units without app mode right now with the 50V cable.
