I have all 3 grounds into the stock ground (the head unit, parking brake bypass and GPS bypass)

Any ideas what causes this?

Probably electrical noise. Without more info it's hard to tell. Using RCA/Amps? Power wires too close to speaker wires? Amp Gain? Etc.

RCAS/amps = Yes. 2 4x6" in the dash on an amp, and 2 12"s in the cargo area on an amp.

I made a point to run all power wire away from the speaker and RCA wires, unless where I couldn't avoid it (where they meet at the amp) Just how much tolerance can they have? If a power wire is even touching the RCA at one small spot, would that do it? How far away do they need to be at all times? I even made a special point to run the remote wires as far away as I could from everything.

Both amp gains are at half.

High amp is a sony xm-4045. I guess this is the one that matters most since you can really hear the static unlike the subs.

Someone told me that all those grounds into the stock ground might be causing it, so I am going to be making a dedicated ground just for the head unit to the body today and see if that helps.

The F series was notorious for this. Its because the hardware is made of cheap components. Some are worse then others. There is no way to fix it unless you get a different unit.

Damn, that sucks.

I tried turning the gain down on the amp like someone from DIYMA suggested, and that worked, but I had to turn it ALL The way down and now it doesn't really sound like there is much clarity.

How about the static crackles that happen when you turn the volume up - is that also normal?

That usually occurs when the volume pot begins to wear out.
