silly nav question?

Hi guys...sorry for all the strange questions :), but here goes....on my old navigation unit, the very tip on the triangle seemd very accurate to where the location of my vehicle was....in other words if I stopped at an intersection, the tip of the triangle would be right on the cross street. Now on this unit when I stop at an intersection, the tip of the triangle is pretty far back...maybe about the length of the triangle itself. Is this normal? it is sort of disatrcting to me and sometimes it is a bit difficult to tell which road I am coming up on. Also, on a different subject, most roads do not have their names displayed on the map. This seems kinda strange to me.... I would like to see ALL of the names of the sidestreets I am passing by. Is there some kind of setting fo this? Again, sorry for all the NOOB questions, but after all....I am a noob ;)

This has been covered before. All of this is normal and there is no way to change it.

You can try to change the zoom controls. If you set the adjustments to the lowest setting (200 in & 300 out, I think), you MAY get more streets to show. I think it might depend upon which mod you are using. With these settings I get many streets ahead. Moving the controls to the right, and I get little or no streets. These statements all apply to 3D mode. In 2D you should get streets. Hope this works for you. It's just a thought.
