My unit was purchased brand new, Nov. 2006.

 

I was disappointed with the unit that the map updates claim to be 2005, when in fact, here in Ontario Canada....there are areas on the GPS that were developed more than 6 years ago! What kind of updated maps are these??

 

Is there an update on the maps coming out??

The new maps are expected to come out along with the AVIC-D3, which, if I remember correctly, will be coming out in mid-March.

 

I don't know what that is going to mean for the Z1, since the Z1 doesn't have a map disc. I read a post on here today that says the Z2 is coming out in mid-April (though I'm not sure how true that is), so an update for the Z1 might be available then.
