With pac you end up buying 2 or more adapters one that works with particular radio one that works with your particular car and some other adapters for power and amplifier, there is one and only one box solution that detects you radio and car at the same time:

You still need the actual power/speaker harness...the aswc is just for steering wheel controls.

What year is the Prius?

i have a 2008 prius.

I want to buy the device off of amazon if possible so a link to what I should get would be much appreciated.

I am not too familiar with any of this I am taking it to a shop to install all this but i thought it would be cheaper to buy everything on my own rather than from them.

If you could explain what it is i need so that I will be able to keep my steering wheel controls.

thanks

For steering wheel controls you can use:

http://www.amazon.com/Metra-ASWC-Universal-Steering-Interface/dp/B0039H2W66/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1301191965&sr=8-1 along with wiring kit 70-8114 which I can't find on Amazon.

or

http://www.amazon.com/PAC-SWI-PS-Universal-Steering-Interface/dp/B001EAWNVY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1301192016&sr=8-1

They both do the same thing. The ASWC is much easier to install, but I'm personally a fan of PAC modules.

You'll also need a power/speaker harness. If you have the standard audio, you just need this adapter: http://www.amazon.com/Metra-70-1761-Wiring-Harness-Speaker/dp/B0002BEQJ8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1301192582&sr=1-1

If you have the JBL package, I'll have to do some looking.
