I think you just use 7 zip to extract, could be wrong tho

7-zip works. I could access the files with winrar but couldn't write back.

7-zip does work and you can convert back to .res

My 7Zip won't let me convert the file back to .res anymore, it just stays as .7z all of a sudden. Anyone know why?

if you are using windows, no need to open 7zip, just right click on the folder you want to convert then select 7zip, add to archive. you need to change the file extension from 7z to res
