Rear View Camera cuts out

I have this weird issue, when I put my car in reverse, after like 3-5 seconds the camera blacks out for a few seconds. It seems like a processing problem with the H/U. It is really annoying because the camera blacks out EXACTLY at the moment I need it most. Has anyone else experienced this? FWIW, the camera has a dedicated power line, and is NOT connected to the reverse light for power. Also, if I put it in "trailer mode"(ie, always on, it works fine and does not black out at all.

then you need to check your reverse wire connection, it may either be loose, or not a strong or constant enough signal to keep the avic switched to that source, or there may just be something wrong with your avic. for a good way to test which of these it is, disconnect the reverse wire from what ever it is connected to and then hook it up to a switch and either ground or 12v (depending on which signal you car is using now) and then flip the switch when you back up and see if it still flips on and off (bad avic) or if it will stay engaged (bad connection or signal)
