Bluetooth Static

This is more of a general question about Bluetooth, but it applies to the Z1 too. Can anyone else hear static either using the Z1 Bluetooth or Bluetooth headsets in general? I just got my first Bluetooth phone (Samsung A940) and tried pairing it with a friend's new Z1. There's static in the background on calls, and it does the same thing with my Jabra headset. His Samsung A920 has the exact same static. It's not terrible, just a bit annoying.

Is this normal with Bluetooth?

I don't think it's the bluetooth portion of it. I don't think that bluetooth is inherently "statically". It's a data transmission "protocol", it's transmitting what it was told. My guess is the device digitizing the sound into digital and that's where the static is coming in. Not due to the bluetooth transmission, but when the sound it made into a digital signal. I would have said it would have been more possible that it's the re-creation of the sound from the digital signal, but since multiple headsets do it, I would think it starts at the source.

I have significant static when the Z1 is paired with my razr. I have a April unit without the bluetooth update (I have the ducati bypass). The bluetooth used to work great with a motorola v551 but now it is unuseable due to the static with my new razr. Not sure what to do since on the phone thread other people arent having any problems with the razr. Ducati or anyone else have any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks in advance

No idea how to fix it. I have a Razr V3m from verizon and except for not being able to transfer my contacts it works great. I have no idea what's causing the static. If you changed phones and it doesn't happen with one but it does with another, I would guess it's a defective phone.

I have the exact same phone, and everyone can hear me clean and clear. What I notice is that the bluetooth beeps at times though my speakers like its going to ring, but the phone never actually rings, and no call is logged.
