Password reset?

So, heres the problem. I work in a well known install shop with stores all across western Canada. I have an AVIC-F90BT that a customer has brought to me to have installed. It looks like its been installed before, came with no power harness, and has a password set on it from, I'm guessing, the original owner. I've read through a bunch of threads and from what it looks like, the unit has to be set away to Pioneer to have it reset. I was just posting this to see if there were any other possible solutions before having to tell the customer that the unit he just bought has to be sent to the manufacturer to have it reset. I'm assuming he won't be too happy to hear this since he also just had to pay for a new power harness that we had to steal out of difference Pioneer screen that we have in stock. Just hoping someone has some advice for me on the situation. I, personally, don't care one way or another, but I would like to be able to make some money off this guy and not send the business away. Thanks in advance for any help.

There is no other solution other then to try and get the password from the previous owner.

password = pain in the ass.

food for thought: a password has never kept a headunit from being stolen!
