Kinda weird that they shut down the site..

Any alternatives that have been proven good?

I found this on Tim Hortons website:

Poifriend.com will be permanently shutting down its website on June 30, 2011. As a result, Tim Hortons will no longer be able to offer its restaurant list in a downloadable format for GPS systems. To find a Tim Hortons restaurant near you, or to use our Trip Planner to find restaurants along your route, please visit our Restaurant Locator.

So they knew in advance, maybe there was a notice on the site before it was taken down.

Wonder if there is/will be another type of site like that to take it's place?

I like http://www.poi-factory.com I just hate the stupid 1000 POI at a time limit that Pioneer has but you can get the CSV files from this site and edit to what ever count you want to import at a time.

Red Light/Speed Camera POI looks interesting on that site. Anyone a subscriber that wouldn't mind sharing the file with us?

Sharing the file would be illegal

If you are talking about http://www.poi-factory.com it's a free registration, just need to have an email account to set it up.

Registration is free, but certain sections are not.
