How do I get this Aux. Input Adapter to work?

I have this auxiliary input adapter from a previous Pioneer setup:

I tried it with my 130BT, but when connected I don't hear anything when I connect an audio source to it (iPod, cell phone, etc.).

I've tried changing one of the inputs to "ext." in the settings, but that didn't do anything.

The unit already has a set of AV inputs. The adapter you have is not needed.

I do need it.

The auxiliary input included with the 130BT is currently connected to a mini-jack I have installed next to the front passenger seat. I need this aux. input adapter to connect to the mini-jack I have installed in the back so passengers in the rear can connect their music devices.

With all due respect, how do you know what I do and don't need without having received an explanation first on what I had planned to do with it?

Anyone know how to get this auxiliary input adapter working?

So your using this connector linked in the first post instead of the included USB/Mini-Jack? So have you checked the "AV System Settings" which sets the source for AV1 and AV2(pg 170-171)? If that doesn't work you may need to use the included mini-jack from the USB/Mini-Jack and get CD-RM10 as shown on page 17 of the install manual. It seems to have a "special" mini-jack thus forcing you to buy from Pioneer.

Good Luck

Well because the unit already offers the connections for the purposes you stated.

The 130BT came with a connector that has a female USB-A port and 3.5mm input that I have routed to the glovebox and have my iPhone / iPod connected to via a CD-IU51V. So that 3.5mm input is taken.

The 130BT also has a 3.5mm input on one of the cables on its harness. That's routed to the 3.5mm I mentioned is next to the front passenger seat.

The auxiliary input adapter I linked to in the first post is supposed to be used with the 3.5mm input I've routed to the back seats, but again I can't get that auxiliary input adapter to work.

So VBLUE42, is there a third 3.5mm input somewhere on the 130BT that I've somehow missed?

It sounds like the part you are referring to only works with Pioneer HU's that support a CD changer. To my knowledge, the Z1x0-BT series does not support a CD changer, therefore your adapter is not comparible. As far as EXT1/2, the manual states "The term “external unit†refers to futurePioneer devices that are not currently plannedfor, or to devices that allow control of basicfunctions although they are not fully controlledby the navigation system." That vague description sounds like it could include a CD changer device, but it also sounds like the Z series doesn't currently support them.

So, it seems you are out of luck with 3 AV inputs. Maybe you could use an AV switch and do it manually. Not a perfect solution, but how often do you need to switch between 3 inputs, plus all the other sources?

BTW, when someone is trying to help you, it isn't wise to cop an attitude. Unless you plan on never comming back here.

Thanks for all of that info. RonS. I guess I can put that aux input adapter away.

Regarding my "attitude"; well, I didn't think I was giving an attitude in any of my posts. I've read a number of threads on these forums and it seems this place is kind of hostile towards people asking simple questions.
