Tried to upgrade to 3.1 firmware and now my F900 doesnt work. When i start the truck the splash screen will pop up then after about 10 seconds the screen and buttons go blank. I can still hear the fan running. If I start it up with the testmode SD in it I can still get to testmode. What do I need to do to get this thing working again. i dont really care about the upgrade, just dont want a 500 dollar brick in my dash. No, i didnt make a backup (DOH!!!)

So it seems that Ive lost the ability to get into testmode. just an endless reboot loop now. looks like i have a brick.

rule #1, always make a back up before doing anything, if you cant get back into test mode, then your probably going to have to send it into pioneer along with a check (i hope that was a official update)

Not an official update. it was a horrible head unit that only does one thing right. the nav is horrible, the bluetooth is unuseable, the only thing that works worth a crap is the ipod controls

as an audio unit, I've always thought it was one of the better choices out there. the sound quality if fairly good (i really have to get picky to start pointing out any issues), the sound adjustments are pretty good. the look of the GUI is definitely one of the hardest to beat. but for the price i paid, there was no way that i wasn't going to have to make some compromises along the way. which a few adjustment more than made it a heck of a lot better.
as far as the bluetooth goes, parrot handles that for most of the major brand anyway so they all seem to have there bugs, so no one wins in this category.
as far as testmode not working anymore, you could either try a newer version (if available, not sure what version you have) or maybe a official update, but to really be able to do anything to fix it, you will have to get in to testmode. maybe somebody will have a copy around of their system files that you could overwrite your flash disk with.
