Looks a bit heavy, is it?

z1 doesn't have rca pre-outs?

It's not light as a feather, but it's not overly heavy, I would guess 5 pounds or so, but I'm not a real good guesser at those kinds of things.

It does, but the connections on the back are "custom pioneer" plugs, there are wiring harnesses with all the connections you could want on wiring harnesses. Like dongles, there are female RCA jacks (a bunch of them) that are on a wiring harness which plug into one of those proprietary connections.
