Sirius tuner connection via AUX

Hi,

I just picked up a used Z110bt to replace my older DEH-P600UB. The Z110 is running v2.0 (Z120, I believe) software.

I have an older Starmate replay that I’m happy with. With my previous head unit, I used the Aux IN to get a direct connection from the Starmate to the HU. I see that the Z110 has two Aux inputs (AV1 and AV2), but they seem to be tailored for a video signal. When you switch to them the screen blanks out, presumably because it’s expecting a video source. The audio plays fine, but I don’t like the idea of the screen just being blank. I was hoping for something like the display that shows when using a USB drive or the FM tuner; i.e. showing the input list down the left side, the config menu, etc.

Is there any way to tell the Z110 that the AV1/2 input is really just an audio input and not a video input? I read the manual but didn't find this info.

Finally - when the unit has been software update to the Z120 firmware, should I really be looking at the Z120 manual instead of the Z110?

Thanks,

-Brett.

have u considered getting the CD-SB10

Funny you should ask - I have one of those sitting in my garage along with a SIRIUS Connect Vehicle Kit SCVDOC1 and a Sirius Starmate 4.

So why am I not just using that? I currently make good use of the pause/rewind feature on my Starmate tuner. From what I understand, when you use the CD-SB10 you can pause a compatible connected tuner but it stops once you switch to another source (FM, for example). So if I get in the car in the morning with the kids and want to pause Howard Stern and switch to FM so that I can listen to Howard after I drop the kids off at school, I can't do that with the CD-SB10. Hopefully that makes sense.

After messing around with AV1 and AV2, I see that once the screen goes blank I can tap it and bring up the list of sources on the left. Ideally, I'd just like the display to stay like that all the time when I'm listening to AV1 or AV2. But that doesn't seem possible.

Thanks,

-Brett.
