I have a wireless remote for my 920, I had to install a isimple (PAC WRI-P) box for it to work and it works fine.
Thanks i acutely just found the thread about the PAC WRI-P interface that lets you use remotes
And i have been doing some reading
but it seems like everyone compatibility says it only goes up to the X920BT models
like when i look at Crutchfield or on PAC website and sonic
they don;t offer it as being compatible with the X930BT but they don;'t say it doesn't
i wonder if it just has not been updated in a year and they never updated for the Newer Models
I am thinking that instead doing the SWI-PS or SWI-RC steering wheel interface i would rather have a remote
because my wheel only has Volume up and Down and Seek/Track Up and down on the same button so only 2 buttons both go up and down
but that is not much help for other features
So i wonder if it will work with the WRI-P and the X930BT
The remote I use is a Pioneer remote and I can change the source and other stuff with it, It is a Pioneer CD-R510

14.95 free shipping eBay
yeah i saw thats what PAC recomends
the one i want is the Steering wheel remote that others have used with the older Z series and the Older X-Series
but i just don;'t know if the WRI-P will work with the X930BT
id Asume that it should but who knows for sure
and wondering if anyone here has used it before for the X930BT
It will work.
It will work.
ok cool so the
WRI-P and the CD-SR1 or CD-SR100 will both work ?
I was wondering the how do i plug it into the Remote wire thats the blue wire comming out of the Harness right ?
the 3.5 Jack on the WRI-P has to be pluged into or wired into that correct ?
or do i have something confused right now
also does the WRI-P have to be programed like the SWI-PS or RC does ?
or is it all just plug and play and then the remote will work or do i have to program the remote also ?
thanks
Its all in the install manual for the module.
yes i understand that i don't have the unit yet and im going to get it sometime next week
so i don't have access to the manual right now
id just like to know if it has to be programed like the SWI interfaces
or since it runs directly to the unit and its not control the steering wheel nothing has to be programed except for the remote or ones the remote finds the unit it automatically works
oh i think your saying its all in the manual for the HU not talking about the WRI-P
Its all in the install manual for the module
Its all in the install manual for the module.
Its all in the install manual for the module.
How can he read the manual if he don't have the module yet? He is trying to get this info together so he buys the correct stuff.
Help a bother out.
It isn't in the HU manual.
.
ok cool thank u bill
will the CD-RS100 work with the WRI-P and the X930bt
i know it is liste din a thead that the CD-RS1 remote will but that is not made anymore
can only get the CD-RS100 now
thanks
Any Pioneer wireless remote will work to some extent. Only the 510 will support all fictions. Refer to the remote threads to see what functions work with what remotes. And please stop posting questions in those threads.
ok thank you
im going to get the CD-RS100 and will report back how it works
i was thinking of the other steering wheel remote they make right now but not sure if the navigation options will work so maybe not worth the money to get it perhaps
also ones the wri-p is installed do i have to program the remote for the interface or will it pick up the remote automaticly
You don't have to program anything.
ok cool thanks
Everything on that remote will work accept the FUNCTION and AUDIO buttons. And its the CD-SR100 not RS100.
when you say audio buttons won't work you mean that i won't be able to use the volume buttons or what ?
im confused could you explain what audio functions won't work ?
and when you say function you mean that i can't change from ipod to cd to am fm or bluetooth so it wont let me change modes right ? from the remote
Those functions are not on the head unit so pushing those buttons on the remote will do nothing. All other buttons on the remote will control the appropriate function on the head unit.
Ok cool awesome Thanks for the help here i just orderd the WRI-P on Amazon for 32.00 and got the remote i wanted for 41.00
