How much faster is the response between SSD and HD? Is it noticeable when booting and entering gps routes?

Noone has been able to get a SSD to run stable in the Avic Z1/2/3. We get new members popping in now and then with big talk about SSD and then disappear. Only Toshiba hard drives will work, all other (including SSD's) randomly reboot. Toshiba does not make a PATA SSD.
