can another layer of security be added? Other boards I visit require you match a word before posting to prevent programs from randomly spamming boards. Seems to help....this is getting insane...
This site was awesome before all this SPAM...
Sorry for the downtime, I was adding some code that checks to see if the post was submitted too quickly and bounces it back. So that should stop most if not all of the spam.
dont suppose we can get a deletion of the spam'd posts-----EDIT---- RIGHT ON!
I think I got rid of them all.
What laser jammer do you use? I was looking at the Escort ZR3, can you recommend it?

the laser jamer is part of the rx75, i havent driving enough to test that part of it but it looks promising if it does what is described, local chp here is starting to use laser now and loose the radar. i couldnt recommend any really, not sure if its my new system or my driving habits changing.

Maybe I just didn't notice it. But I thought we got a spam message once every week or so. We got a dozen since yesterday. It was quite a flood recently. Some I deleted within minutes of posting. You would think that with such diligent moderators (jason and to a very small extent, me) that it's not worth the trouble.
Now, how illegal is the laser jammer? I know that up here in Washington State if you were to be going down I-5 and a state patrol "gunned" you and it wasn't able to get a speed off of your car, they would pull you over so fast it wouldn't even be funny. Our cops are the cops you hear about, "that have nothing better to do." so I don't know how well that would work up here. But, I don't know the laws on it, and have heard that there are quite a few loopholes to dodge that specific ticket. Even if you could argue it away in court a few months later, You would still be getting searched and questioned at the time of the "crime."
What are the laws on laser jamming?
well i think the laws written currently cover radar, not laser. I even believe that to be true in washington, because in most other states even radar detectors are not illegal. The laser jammer is different then the radar detector... the laser jammer actually confuses the laser gun/officer and the speed is not readable. Where as the radar detector just indicates to you that you are being tagged, and that the officer probably has your speed. You cant effectively jam radar. from what I know at least, but laser you can
I love how people spend so much time and energy on radar detectors and things like that. And even then, you can still get a ticket (around here, NJ, a cop will generally use a radar gun, but they are "trained to judge speed" and can give you a ticket just by guessing how fast you are going with no technology behind it, and yes, a buddy of mine is a cop and that holds up in court).
You know what the best thing that kept me from getting ticket no matter how I drove...
Drive one of these:

This thing had balls, handled ok, people would fight to get out of my way... they would change the way they drove around me. People were kind and courteous, no road rage... it was great. And as I would go 90 mph though a speed trap a simple wave to the cops, would get a wave back. It was great.
yeah that looks waaaaay better then 99.99% of the sports cars on the road now adays. sign me up!

I didn't say it looked better than anything. But if you ever get a chance, drive one for a week. I had a friend with a WRX and we switched for a week. He didn't like driving the crown vic, but he was amazed how much better his commute was. Just drive fast in the left lane and everyone moved aside. Cops would wave at him no matter how fast he would go. I told him the stories of how great this car was, not technically the vehicle itself, but what it brought out in other drivers. He didn't believe me till he tried it for a week.
And I like the way it looked. This kind of car was "me". I traded it in for a 300C and was not happy with the reliability and the fact I "lost" the cop car thing. My aviator is my wifes old truck. After I get rid of this, I'm going back. But I'm waiting to see how the Chargers are used in my area... there are a few. If my local guys stick with the vic's I'm getting another one.
OK here is a rundown on the laser jammer
but a little backround first
radar jamming is illegal and radar is is regulated by the FAA
laser is regulated by the FDA and is legal to be jammed
laser is a light source that can be fooled by many different methods, but the most affective is the blinder/escort/bel products
the trick is this
your driving 85mph in a 70mph highway.
your jamming device lights up like the 4th of July.
you slow down to 70mph and then turn off your jammer and let the officer lock onto you at the speed limit.
this way the officer (altough supspects you of speeding) has a readout of the 70mph limit and has no "real" reason to come after you. This will stand up in court (i have had many customers do this)
any other questions feel free to ask
+1 for being able to drive fast ducatiboy,
-1 for my view on the way it looks
+1 on your view of it looking good
so you fair with a +1

Actually the really fun part was to drive around and watch people slam on their brakes... or when they were just about to make an illegal left they would suddenly change what they were going to do. People would see that car and get scared and be very "nice" on the road. I literally laughed out loud at least once per time in the vehicle seeing someone about to do something illegal and then quickly not and they thought they were smooth about it but they were so not. It's worth at least another +1
And those things are dirt cheap and pretty reliable. Much better than my 300c was.

The only problem is that here in NJ, cops are "trained speed judges" and their guess at how fast you were going does stand up in court. My buddy has argued this personally and won and gave someone a ticket without a radar gun reading. Of course each state might be different. It might even change depending on the judge.
I think the obvious solution got missed here. You could just not speed...
ok you nerdy white dude! that isnt a solution. hehe
I'm telling my mommy on you!!!!!!
