i just had an Avic X930BT installed in my 2006 Pontiac G6. The reciever will not go into night mode and is very bright when using GPS at night. i was wondering if anyone knows what wire to hook and the color. It was professionally installed and I would like to know what I would need to do to fix it before I get behind the reciever.
No night mode on x930bt in Pontiac G6
i would take it back to the installer, part of paying to have something professionally done, is to have it work right.
now if you really want to fix it yourself, first off g6's are a pain in the ass to remove the radio, not necessarily hard, but a lot of screws need to come out, to first remove the glove box, then the drivers underdash shroud, then the radio trim.
now the illum wire needs to be hooked up (orange/white) to a 12v source when the light are on, if the installer used the right harness with the data module, there should be a wire coming off of it to hook up to the pioneers illum wire (it should either be a orange/white wire or it could be a solid orange wire)
if they didnt use the correct harness, then you will have to find a wire that does test right.
I went behind it to hook up my amp. I seen the harness didn't have a wire to hook into so I managed to splice it into the wire for the hazzard light button. It does the trick. When the button lights up at night then the reciever dims and the gps goes into night mode.
