Am I missing something or should the Z1 be pausing either CD songs, or ebooks while making announcements about directions or during phone calls. On long calls you can really miss a lot of an ebook. Is there no setting that will pause play-back while the phone feature is used??

There is actually an undocumented feature for doing this, and it's very easy to do. There are only two steps, listed below:

1) Press pause.

2) When done with your call, press Play.

You have been informed.

How exactly do you press pause? Would it be best to use your finger?

Or, you could use your stylus, if it hasn't gone to the netherworld under your seat.
