Firmware error: Storage problem

Trying to upgrade firmware to 2.06. everything updates ok until It hits the 78% mark. Then red screen saying not enough storage space. I can get the unit into test mode but I dont know what or how to delete items to free up more space. Also after doing this I lost access to maps and audio. How can I get this back to factory? Thanks.

what unit do you have?

you can probably use the FX3.1 instructions... this will actually format your existing flash clearing off all available space. If you are going to do this, go ahead and make sure you update the maps to 2011 before copying over to flash so you have the latest and greatest.

I have the F700BT. Thanks for the quick reply. I will try with those instructions. I'll search around for 2011 maps. Does it matter that I didnt back up (think I already deleted) the igo folder?

FX3.1 from that thread plus latest teleatlas or navteq 2011 maps for your region will have everything that you need

 

but you can just do the fx3.1 install first to make sure you can get it up and running, and then worry about update the maps/pois later...

Just waiting to DL the file the bay. Now if I can get into test mode with SD I can skip the first steps to getting into test mode right?

huh? you should verify that testmode works for you (testmode here just means that you can boot to windows explorer desktop). Then just follow the steps.. It will have you boot into service menu (uboot blue screen) where it will have you format and reflash latest OS image from sdcard. Then you will boot to testmode and copy the My Flash Disk folder over from sdcard.

I was asking if I would still need to go through service mode to get to test mode. Ive been waiting for days for the PB download with no luck. I have the 2.6 upgrade ready to go. Can I follow these steps and replace the 3.1 for 2.6? WIll it work the same?

getting a black screen after install. Rebooted after install got the splash screen then unit went blank. Any ideas? Been searching around for hours
