Registering second phone on bluetooth

Hi all.

I have had the Z1 for about 7 months now, and have had the blackberry 7250 paired to the unit without any problems.

My company got new phones, blackberry pearl with T- mobile.

I have tried to register the pearl several times with no success.

Registering through the NAVI unit is not possible. It tells me to register via the phone.

When I try to register thru the phone, it recognizes the NAVI unit, but displayes a message the the NAVi cannot accept at this time.

I think I might have to delete the old phone.

How do I reset the unit to do this? What info will i lose with a "soft" reset.

Any suggestions would really help.

Thanks in advance.

This is gonna sound dumb, but you wouldn't happen to have the other phone paired at the time you tried this, would you? If not, try a reset on the AVIC to clear the old phone out.

First phone is registered but not connected. In fact i don't even have it anymore, i turned it in.

Thanks for the response

Can you pair the Pearl to any other bluetooth headsets?

My company issues Pearls, but IT puts their own policies on them.

Basically limits what the user can install/change/mess up.

Similar to Admin rights on a PC.

Just a thought

You should still be able to pair it with your AVIC, since it does not try to change any software or settings. Unless you are trying to upload software, the phone shouldn't see a reason to enforce any security protocol. So, whether or not your company has restricted access to your phone, your AVIC should be seen as nothing more than another bluetooth device, such as an earpiece.
