Getting ready to install the z130 and trying to find a good location for the gps receiver. I would rather not have it sitting on the dash or outside of the car. How well will it work under the dash? I have a center speaker that I really don't need and can remove it and locate it under the grill. I am sure it would be best to have it exposed, but I don't want to advertise my new purchase.

I'm also interested in the same thing.

No one has installed a gps antenna?

I have but mine is on the dash and works great

I've got a x930 and the GPS antenna is under the dash above my top vents. Works great just make sure it's only plastic and glass above it not anything metal or electrical and you should be fine.

i have my gps antenna on the large metal bar supporting the dash -- the only thing above it are plastic vents and the dash itself. no problems so far.

I put my antenna under the dash, on top of a duct for the AC, I was picking up 11-13 sats and 2-3 bars. This is in a '01 F-250 SuperDuty
