I have an Avic F7010BT and when we connect the Iphone 4 or Ipod the screen shows that it is connected and we can change songs, artists, etc. but we can not get any sound thru the speakers.

are you using proper ipod cable? (with a/v + usb), and a/v connected to proper inputs of a/v harness?

^+1 if you are just using the sync cable that came with the ipod, then you are using the wrong cable. refer to the manual, and get the right cable.
