i have an avic n1 head and brain, ive bben wanting to change the background, but when i put in my cd rw with jpegs, and go to the menue screen, i only have the options of audio, inital or settings, and none of these have background options, has anyone expirienced this issue or have any ideas on wha the problem may be?

If I remember correctly the background image menu is in the navigation menus. Not the Audio menu.

correct, go to the gauges screen and press either the right or left guage. then a options menu will pop up. at the bottom you should see change backround.
